Terrific hotel in a charming town! Great staff as well - Mark in particular is friendly and helpful. I loved the cozy bar with a fireplace and excellent selection of whiskies to enjoy. You won't misstep by booking here!

Four times in four evenings and always as excellent! French tourists on their first trip to Scotland. We went there for dinner and everything was perfect: the atmosphere, the warm and professional staff, the recipes! (Other restaurants don't offer a menu of this quality). We can also add the excellent whiskey list! A big thank you again to the staff.

Location is good based in a small village but there are shops, pubs and fuel station. Room was spacious with a very generous bathroom but one of the radiators wasn't working and the windows were a bit drafty. Breakfast time is stricter than usual as you need to specify exact time (rounded to 10 mins) when you want your breakfast served. I'd rate the breakfast plate a 6/10 considering size and quality. Overall it was a nice experience but I think it's a bit overpriced for what it's offering.

We had a lovely stay. The room/bathroom were fabulous. Very comfortable bed. The dinner we had was wonderful. Our waiter James, was so professional and knowledgeable. A great dinning experience. The bar was small and cozy. I imagine in the winter with a roaring fire it would be fabulous. My only wish was that there had been a few toiletries (like a shower cap) supplied.

Enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable hotel set in a quiet location. Dinner was delicious. No wonder the dining room was full. Lucy is an excellent chef.

So currently staying here for 4 days with business (work) Nice big hotel, loads of rooms we did wait a short time upon arrival greeted by one of the owners Nice friendly chap, filled our breaky forms in to our preferences and a nice tidy selection, room double room for me spotless & tidy comfy bed, nice clean bathroom and noticed the highland soup company for the hand-wash shampoo & body wash (love the stuff so bonus) First night we had dinner, more of a fish style menu (unsure if menu changes due to seasons etc or time of the year although I do like a burger or curry etc sometimes, the fish i ordered was out of this world, fresh as can be tasted outstanding as did the fries can tell the chef puts alot of effort into the meals at breaky & dinner as both are always flawless. Price I'd normally say a tad expensive but given the fact it is completely made from scratch & so fresh I'd say fair prices all around. Hosts & owners chatty welcoming seen some reviews regarding a boiler problem i did have one night the heating dimmed down however my room wasn't "freezing" it was cool so can't complain. Experience for me really enjoyed my stay nice location 5 mins walk to other venues & coop etc. I'd revisit again. Only reason I've given 4 star is purely because the shower isn't a power shower (slightly stronger) only thing i felt that let the room down I'm being a moan but overall everything else 5* Thanks guys

This review is for their restaurant as I didn’t stay at the hotel but there doesn’t seem to be anything on Google to be able to review the restaurant by itself We ate Christmas Day lunch Ghillie Bar & Restaurant, we happened to be staying in Aviemore over Xmas, there wasn’t much open on Christmas Day and what was didn’t have an appealing menu for a pescatarian. I looked on Speyside Hotels website and they were doing Halibut not Salmon,(excellent) but it wouldn’t let me book online so I assumed it was full. But on the off chance I sent an email asking if they could fit in 2 people and they did. Reservation made and booking email sent back as confirmation. I never really expect much from a Christmas Day lunch, there’s a lot of covers and so the veg is usually soggy or rock hard, meat or fish overcooked. The food here was amazing, the starters were good but the mains were exceptional. Turkey was in big slices, very moist. Halibut, white as snow and cooked to perfection. Veg was delicious, perfectly cooked (parsnips were a wonder) and perfectly seasoned. The staff were lovely, service was prompt and the whole atmosphere was great. Well done to all involved, they had two sittings and it’s not easy to pull of Christmas Day lunch and they all excelled.
